Board Resources

Homeward NYC provides housing and wraparound services that empower homeless New York City young mothers, LGBTQIA young people and older adults to live life forward. In addition to experiencing the traumas of homelessness, many of our residents are survivors of domestic or family violence.

Our nonprofit owns and operates three LGBTQ young adult supportive housing (affordable housing with support services) sites, and a mixed-age housing site that is a transitional family shelter for homeless mothers and children and long-term, affordable housing for low-income and homeless seniors. Homeward Central Harlem, our third LGBTQ-affirming housing site, opened fall 2023.

We know that a future starts with a place to live. Our housing is a launching pad to deliver our case management, counseling, group activities, and skills-building and empowerment programs that heal traumas and promote housing stability. Our Transitional Care & Aftercare Program launched summer 2023 to better position young adults for success when they move to permanent and more independent housing.

Homeward NYC (a dba of West End Residences HDFC, Inc.) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization. Our tax ID number is 13-3442001.
