Homeward NYC’s Peer-to-Peer Civic Empowerment Program is pleased to share we are hosting another Healing Community Event, this time co-sponsored with The Fortune Society. This year’s annual healing retreat will take place at Castle Gardens, 625 West 140th Street (b/t Broadway and Riverside Dr.), on Sat. April 25, 2026 from 10am to 5pm.

This one day retreat will feature a variety of wellness offerings, including a financial literacy workshop, aromatherapy, mindfulness practices, chair yoga, and acupuncture.

Our goal is to create a supportive, restorative space where individuals can begin—or continue—their healing journey from the trauma and emotional impact associated with involvement in the justice system.

The retreat is designed to provide tools for grounding, growth, and empowerment while fostering community connection. We also look forward to sharing intentional moments of stillness, reflection, and self care—a dedicated time to simply be and to honor one’s own wellbeing.

We are excited to announce that the peers in Cohort 5 of the Peer to Peer Program will assist with this event as part of their impact project. This marks our fifth cohort, and we are proud to continue creating opportunities for peers and community members to take part in meaningful, healing centered initiatives.
